Hotel Livigno – in the Heart of the Alps – Tradition and Hospitality since 1912
The history of Livigno, an ideal holiday resort in both winter and summer, is also the history of Hotel Livigno, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012. Hotel Livigno has been welcoming visitors from around the world since 1912 in a harmonious fusion of past and future by combining superb comfort and charming Alpine hospitality. It is located in the Plaza Mottini, a short distance from the pedestrian zone, the ski slopes and the Stelvio National Park. It is simply enjoyable to come to the Hotel Livigno and feel right at home.
At the beginning of the century, Giuseppe Mottini, who ran a bakery and diner in his old house, built the first Hotel in Livigno in 1912. The hotel was inaugurated with the name "Albergo Livigno." Today, the building faces the square known as Plaza Mottini. His son Bèpìn Mottini, together with his wife Domenica, continued the business with great success and, in 1936, they opened "The Café." In 1960, their daughter Elisa Mottini, together with her husband Michele, took over the business, and today the Hotel Livigno is managed by their sons – Damiano, Fernanda, Stefano and Oliviero
